Why Start a Shine Together Chapter?
Starting a Shine Together chapter is more than just creating a group—it’s about empowering youth, building leadership, and making a difference in the community. Here’s why you should consider starting a chapter:
-
Empowerment and Leadership
By starting a Shine Together chapter, you give young people the opportunity to lead, plan, and implement impactful volunteer initiatives. Through key leadership roles like President, Vice President, Treasurer, and more, members develop essential leadership and organizational skills that will serve them well beyond the chapter. -
Community Engagement
Shine Together chapters bring communities closer by organizing meaningful volunteer events. Whether it’s local clean-up efforts, fundraising for important causes, or youth-led service projects, your chapter will be at the heart of bringing positive change to your area. -
Recognition and Growth
Members of Shine Together chapters are eligible for prestigious awards, including the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). This not only recognizes outstanding community service but also enhances resumes and college applications, setting members apart as leaders and changemakers. -
Networking and Collaboration
Starting a chapter connects you with a wider network of Shine Together members and leaders across the country. You’ll gain access to resources, collaborate on larger initiatives, and even have the opportunity to serve on Shine Together’s board as your chapter grows. -
Be Part of a National Movement
Shine Together is a growing national movement that empowers youth to harness their creativity and passion for making a difference. By starting a chapter, you become part of this powerful movement, helping young people shine and uplift their communities.

-
Promote Shine Together using official materials: Utilize the Shine Together materials as provided, without alterations. Aim to have at least 50 people sign up using the attached form.
-
Submit leadership details: After collecting signatures, email the form along with the names of at least five leadership members (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Communications Lead). Your chapter will be fully functional within three days.
